What are the differences in the different rate types per unit?
Mostly the proximity of the ocean. All units are similar in size and iinclude a washer/dryer and storage area on the first floor. See PROPERTY LAYOUT

What are the driving directions to Cocoplum?

How long is the drive from Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport?
Allow yourself 2-3 hours to get to Miami International Airport (110 miles) or Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (135 miles).

Rush hour in Miami & Fort Lauderdale is Between 6:30 am – 9:30 am, and 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Add 1 hour of travel time during these periods.

Do you allow pets or smoking in any of the villa's?
Sorry but we do not allow pets anywhere on the property or smoking inside any villa. If you must smoke it is allowed on the screened on porches of every villa. But not inside any of the air-conditioned space. If we do find evidence of pets or smoking inside a villa we will charge a $250 cleaning fee and possible eviction you without a refund.

Do you have boat dockage on site?
Yes, we have 9 deep water boat docks on site. We have plenty of parking to dry dock your boat on your trailer or just the trailor and park it across the street in our open lot and use the free public boat ramp approximately one mile from here on US-1 Bayside between the Quay and the Island Restaurants. Also a very nice ramp just 1/3 mile away on Cocoplum Drive on Avenue I.

How many people per villa? What are the bedding arrangements?
Strict maximum occupancy is 6 people per villa. The master bedroom has a queen bed that sleeps 2. The guest room has queen bed that sleeps 2 AND a twin bed that sleeps 1. In the living room there is a queen-size sleeper sofa that sleeps 2. We do not offer any additional roll-a-ways or cots in any villa.

What disposable products do you supply (toilet paper, soap, dish detergent, etc.)?
We supply the following items only:
  • Toilet paper
  • Kleenex tissues
  • Trash bags
  • Bath soap
  • Dishwasher detergent
  • Glass or all-purpose kitchen cleaner
More of these items are available at the front office at no additional charge if you run out during your stay.

We do offer a limited one-time starter supply of
  • Coffee, creamers and sugar packets for 1 pot of coffee
  • Tea
  • Paper towels
  • 1 box of laundry detergent
More of these items are available at the front office for an additional charge. We recommend that you purchase these items at the local grocery store.

When are your lowest rates?
Our lowest rates are from September until mid-December. See our RATE SHEET for specific information. We also run SPECIALS from time to time throughout the year.

Can guests visit us while we stay at Cocoplum?
No! No! No! We are a quiet small Resort. Our units and amenities are only large enough to handle our occupancy of 6 people per unit. Any guests who violate this strict policy will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given.

Are the units well-equipped?
All units have fully-equipped kitchens (including blenders). All bath and bed linens are supplied. We do not supply beach/pool towels.

Is there daily maid service?
No, our units are your "home away from home." We clean the unit at the end of your stay. During your stay each units have their own laundry room if you want to freshen up your towels or linens. If you request additional cleaning there will be a charge of $50 and you will receive fresh towels and linens. This extra service must be requested in advance.

What is the distance to Key West?
It will take a beautiful one hour to drive to Key West that features a trip over the famous 7 Mile Bridge. Travel slowly on the roads of Deer Key because the Key Deer is an endangered species!

Is there a shuttle to Key West or Fort Lauderdale?
The shuttle service is Keys Shuttle. See thier web site at www.floridakeysshuttle.com for times and rates.

Where can we swim with the dolphins?

The closest dive shops are Middle Keys Scuba and Deep Blue Dive Shop on Key Colony Beach. For more information see our LIST OF DIVING AND SNORKELING INFORMATION

Do you rent water sports equipment (jet skis, parasails, etc.)?
No, we do not rent water sports equipment. The nearest rental facilities are Island Tiki Bar & Restaurant and R & R Water Sports.

Is there internet access?
Yes, we have Wi-Fi internet service on the property. It is included in your $2 a day resort fee. When you arrive you will need to get the WEP code at the front desk at check in.

Are there hair dryers/irons in the units?
Each unit has one(1) hair dyer. You may sign out an iron at the front office for the duration of your stay.

Is there an onsite tennis pro?
No, our tennis courts are meant for impromptu games for guests only with no lessons or pre-planned matches. We do provide tennis equipment rentals.

Are there DVD/VCRs available?
Each unit is equipped with one or the other. Please come into the office during normal business hours to request the DVD or VCR.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, each villa is allowed 2 vehicles. Any additional vehicles, oversized vehicles and trailers will need to park across the street in the canal property where the docks are located. Parking is a first come, first serve, close to your villa. Parking passes are required. for every vehicle and trailer on site.
